Since it was on my mind (and the last couple are old and bad), I redrew both sets of Inu's armor.
The left is her formal armor, which she very rarely uses. She likes it fine and it's reasonably comfortable and easy to move in, but it's still far too fancy for a real fight. It has too many layers and too much steel. The right is her proper, normal armor. It's much more reasonable, being made of layered leather and a lighter load of scale mail. No helmet with either of these. It's easy to find a helmet designed to accommodate big ears, but she doesn't like closing off her vision. If anyone is curious or doesn't remember, Inu is the captain of a mercenary company. She mostly fights as light cavalry or infantry, and is always right in the worst of the fighting. Also, she's completely ambidextrous in fighting, writing, whatever. Inu and art (c) me |

I'm not short, I'm just concentrated!
If reality is a figment of your imagination, does that make your imagination reality?
Yeah. Fancy is fancy. Mobile is sexy. Easy choice. :3

Fancy armor is nice and reasonable, but who wants to carry around a full mail coat? Besides, even a fire demon gets a bit hot in that many layers! We like skirmisher armor, yes indeed

Ah but this is some nice armor you've got right here, I think that both sets are very well-designed. Her less formal armor I like especially because it looks like a mix of Samurai and medieval European, with its own unique flair thrown in there. They both have their own bits of cultural influence, and I greatly admire that. Hohooo. The picture itself is just as skillfully done. Your digital art's gotten so incredibly good. You might want to darken the shadows on Inu's skin to make sure they match the rest of the shading; her skin's shadows are lighter than the rest of the picture, so that's important to keep in mind. But beyond that it's incredibly impressive. Your lineart is neat, the coloring is crisp and eye-pleasing, and the detailing is becoming very precise. Excellent work, Inu!
OH OH I HAVE TO SAY THIS. I'm so glad to see a female character with believable armor. About 90% of the time female armor is some steel lingerie or formfitting suit, and that seriously pisses old Ribbs off. Good good work killing that cliche, thank you SO much. Just because a character is a lady doesn't mean she should go into battle like one!
